The purpose of advanced security driving training is to further enhance your observation, anticipation, planning and commentary. This will enable you to formulate and execute driving plans that cover your options, whilst showing you can maintain the ability to drive safely, systematically and smoothly and at all times balancing progress against restraint to advanced Level.

Course Details

In addition to the subjects covered in Roadcraft and the highway code, students will be expected to drive to the system of car control, which is explained in road craft. Adopting this style of driving will improve:

• HAZARD AWARENESS / Prioritising hazards
• Road signs and observation links
• Vision Scans
• Cornering
• Overtaking

The course will also include Cockpit Drills – Vehicle Daily Inspection drills and Commentary skills. A classroom and practical input on Anti-hijack driving will be included.

The student will be assessed on every drive, which will be recorded and debriefed at the end of each day.

Students will undergo a written exam, which is based on the Highway Code and Road craft.

The course will be run over 5 days at the end of the course the successful students will be a systematic, smooth, restrained competent driver.

Membership to the Institute of advanced Motorists (IAM) is also included
